The performance of next gen studio is still terrible compared to the current version.
80 fps max in next gen
120fps in normal
1440p 240hz

I came home to this explorer:
Compared to the old explorer (random pic):
It is blurry, clunky and slow. Compared to the minimalist, easy-to-use and fast old one
Some notable quality of life features are missing, including block selecting, dragging and dropping (it kinda works but much worse than the old one), and it also has unwanted features such as highlighting descendants when you select an instance
It’s also just really slow (around 70% slower than the old one on my device), clunky (why so much space just for names/???), and blurry (as you can see in the picture.)
If I try editing the name of the instance via double clicking, it baffles me that it takes more than 1 second to allow me to edit the name. How???
Overall this is far, far from “next gen”. Honestly I think forcing everyone to have the beta on on-update was really annoying, like, why???
Hi Pls Help Me why this bug happen to me
Go to beta features and disable next-gen explorer, then restart studio
nah i mean i want to use this new one but its bad quality
I mean it’s just like that, if you don’t like it i’d switch to the old one :V
i want to be up to date and it looks very good in the main post Next Gen Explorer now available for everyone!, i want roblox to make settings for it so we can change size of icons and quailty if possible
I regularly use ALT+CTRL+K to get where in the explorer the script I’m focused on is. But it’s behavior is annoyingly inconsistent; sometimes it just works, sometimes I have to focus explorer, and sometimes it just doesn’t work in any of the previous cases.
great I now need to make a folder for every plugin
The new explorer still does not show up every instance. Sometimes it just skips instances. I had a meshpart in a folder. I tried to expand it but nothing happened besides that the arrow on the left to the folder changed. I needed to ungroup it to access the part.
What happened to fast scrolling when holding shift? I use this a lot in my explorer, it has the same scroll functionality as the script editor does, and having the explorer and script editor have inconsistent behavior bothers me. Being able to quickly scroll to the top of my explorer is super convenient instead of endlessly scrolling.
Found another major issue. Tabbing to move selection down whilst modifying an instance’s name does not work as intended, instead it creates indentations.
Personally, I really liked how the old context menu looked. This one clearly lacks some features that the old one had.
Changing it in the Explorer but not in the main editor doesn’t make a lot of sense.
I’d like to see a way to disable this new context menu.
Edit 1: Another thing I don’t really like about this Explorer update is that when I insert an instance into an object, the object doesn’t automatically open. It’s not a big deal, but it feels unnecessary to have to click the arrow button every time I add something.
Aside from this, I’m pleasantly surprised by how it turned out.
How can I disable this new explorer? I cannot use it while developing UI because it does not add selection handles to UI elements when they are selected.
Edit: it only does not work when the UI is parented to CoreGui, but this is essential for storybook plugins, such as Hoarcekat or UILabs
Edit 2: Oops, I didn’t realize that it automatically enabled itself in the Beta Features menu. I have toggled it off again
YES!!! we can already paste objects into multiple selections, why not insert object??
I like the features, but not the design…
It’s not because it’s ugly, it’s actually pretty good UI!
But I don’t like that every other panel/frame in the studio is an entirely different style, a roblox studio “classic” style…
Just look at this:
The borders on the search tab are completely different. The old one is sharp, and the new one is modern and circled.
I like the lines so you can see what item is in what scope easily, but maybe adding the “classic” studio style that we have right now to the new window while keeping the new features.
But overall, it’s a great update!
Enable Next Gen UI from Beta Features.
I think an error in output happens when you do that. I think that’s how I triggered a explorer error a day ago.
