(Note: this is not related to the accidental rollout of the new theme to old Studio. I’m enrolled in the new studio beta.)
After the most recent theme update, I’ve discovered that if I change the theme from light to dark, the text in the textboxes in the Properties widget is black instead of white. Similarly, if I switch from dark to light theme, the text is white instead of black. This makes the text basically illegible on my laptop screen.
It’s like they didn’t even test it before forcing it on everyone. I doubt a single employee at roblox has EVER used studio in their lives if this is able to happen. These people get paid too much just so they can do some crap like this so their corporate overlords won’t fire them. Whichever useless intern is responsible for this needs to get fired.
Here’s the flags so you can disable it:
EnableFoundationColorsInStudio3
DevFrameworkEnableFoundationColors3
Yeah a lot of bugs with the new theme, I just opened one myself… I think they released this by accident (the theme is not only for “next gen” studio beta, I don’t have it and have the theme as well)
The global rollout was accidental, and has since been rolled back
I deliberately enrolled in this beta, it wasn’t forced on me
This issue is relatively niche and tricky to catch. There are not a lot of people like me who toggle between light and dark mode on a daily basis.
There are a lot of developers-turned-employees at Roblox, especially working on Studio. The team working on this likely has more Roblox development experience than the two of us combined.
They also need to read these threads to fix issues that come up, which is why you would do well to be respectful in the future instead of turning my bug report into a mindless vent thread.
