at this point one has to wonder how much power do these tooltips have to do this lol??

I think they should add smooth caret animations to the script editor; it would look very satisfying.

Below is a GitHub link which perfectly shows what I mean:

The old tooltips were terrible and weak. I fear we have made them… too powerful.

Seriously though, it’s my understanding the biggest problem isn’t the tooltips themselves but rather how we handle the main window getting defocused (and properly cleaning up). It makes sense if you think about tooltips always render on top of everything.

I’ve shared with our scripting editor team :grinning:

yeah, that makes sense, i made a tooltip system once for a UI framework i was working on, and it was pretty annoying to try and clean up, i don’t mind the tooltip getting stuck as of now since it doesn’t cause a lot of lag like before.

make sure that this becomes optional, if your team wants to add it.

New toolbox beautiful, but lags when I open Workspace. Also I founded bug with object inserting.
Thank you for this great updates!

But theoretically the proper behavior is for tooltips to disappear when they’re no longer hovered, right? It shouldn’t wait until the Studio window is minimized to do this?

In theory, yes. But hover state is also a little wonky so it’s possible we never get the equivalent of a “mouse leave” type of event when the window blurs out. Once we get more fully moved over to the Next Gen architecture with less C++/Lua interop problems, we will be in a better position here.

Ah, you guys dealing with the MouseEntered MouseLeave event issues to? Seems that nobody can escape the curse, not even staff lol.

Nah, but I do hope it won’t be too hard to resolve, dealing with issues like that is eternally frustrating. Good luck, you have my sympathies lol

I guess it’s good proof that the new Studio architecture more closely aligns with the community pain points

Really looking forward to getting all these things off the ground so we can start working on better UI tools and workflows that benefit all of us!

Wait, is the new explorer out? If so, I might switch now.

New explorer looks really good so far

Some suggestions:

  • Make the children being highlighted after its parent has been selected an option
  • Bigger expand/collapse arrows since they’re a bit too small (imo)
  • Make the scrolling increment smaller
  • Make the height of the entries a bit shorter

Other than that, loving the progress so far

This happens to me too but on a way better plugin

It’s usually way more (like 15+) that’s just how I caught it. No idea why it just duplicates the rock with pancakes button a lot when I go into a playtest.

Didn’t expect new explorer to actually work faster compared to old one, it is indeed fast and more reactive.
Though there are already issues I’ve found

No option to select parent/children
изображение

Expanded insert asset menu doesn’t respect the position it should be at when expanded (in this case, at the viewport area)

Searching algorithm seems to be faster too, no more having to wait in pain for explorer to index everything if the place is kinda heavy!

please don’t add it

Im gonna ask you this.
Did you read everything?
