leave my beloved studio tab alone :rage:

I think custom tabs and custom key binds for buttons would significantly speed up workflow for developers, whether they are new or experienced.

where is this setting in the new gui?

I think so too! For the initial released, the existing shortcut keys system will be in place. But we know it could use a lot of love and it’s on our radar for later this year.

It’s in the View menu under Debug Error currently. It does seem like an unintuitive place though. Where were you expecting it? Script tab? What menu would make more sense to you?

BTW new playtest controls which include debugger functions is very close to releasing!

i have some things seen with the tour the toolbox part works but after you playtested it doesnt tell you what else to do maybe you need to open the workspace but it doesnt tell me anything a beginner wouldn know what to do also i didnt know you could move your camera up and down

and i actualy know now how to rotate the camera with a trackpad whatb i need when i cant use my mouse

and whats langouge is that what the start page shows on the start page @MeshOfPaul

looks like it only doesnt show the gui when after you playtested

oh and if i enable the tour in plugingui from roblox the skip prompt just stuck on my screen

if i insert a wedge trough the custom tabs it breaks the tutorial also but thats just me not listing to the tutorial

i am very excited for the playtest controls but i have some suggestions that may make it even better , first of all please rename the start button to something else when i have first saw the start button i thought that it opens the experience on the Roblox client and not a playtest  and secondly the playtest controls should be visible if i am selecting the playtest from the play menu and not like the old one where it is always visible

I really like the new UI, and I’ve used it. Just some things that I would like to see if added. Like the test tab where I’m able to test the mobile devices. And also the uppertab is really really tall and takes a lot of space. Is there maybe a way I’m able to shrink the size?

Yikes! Start Page shouldn’t be appearing during the tour so thanks for the note. It’s not a language but rather a nasty issue with our engine when we use a different font than the standard (same issue as the garbage placeholder text in the visualizer menu)

Thanks for chaos testing the tutorial as well. I’ll pass along the feedback!

I don’t quite follow on the playtest comment. Do you mean here (Step 4)? I’m currently seeing a bug where I can’t get past step 7 which is the anchor step. Are you seeing the same?

Right now you can do some light customization by right clicking on the ribbon area and toggling labels or turning the ribbon into undocked (auto hide) mode. We have much more customization options and controls planned for the future.

OK getting stuck on the anchor step was because I have Next Gen Explorer Beta turned on. We just rolled out a flag to fix this.

Is there a ‘Reset to Default’ button? It is very important for people who want to reset their layout and custom tabs.

I know this is a bit off-topic, but does Roblox utilize multi-threading and make better use of the GPU? I’ve experienced issues with Roblox lagging significantly, with random frame spikes on an RTX GPU, yet my GPU usage remains below 12%.

I’m not sure if this is a new or a bug, as I am new to using the pop-out of the search function in explorer.

Just curious if there’s not meant to be a scroll bar if you can’t see all the selectable options ?

As you can see… no scroll bar and there are many missing from view.

I even moved explorer to my 2nd screen… to make it easier, but it doesn’t help.
I then had to open every possible folder below the text button in StarterGui… just to get it to the highest I can in explorer… just to see the most possible in the pop-out menu.
And I still can’t be sure if that is even all of them.

Is there a way to Undock this pop-out menu from explorer ?
It’s not a train smash… since you can narrow it down with a few search characters, but being a newbie at G/UI’s (looking just for all GUI related options), need to see all possible options.

Thanks.

We are multi-threaded and the GPU is utilized by the engine which drives more and more of our UI.

We have seen a trend reported by some Windows 11 users (24H2 update) and turning off “optimization for windowed games” has resolved it:

Strange! Mine looks like this:

Is this because the window is bigger than your screen can fit?
