honestly I wouldnt recommend adding the whole pay to get unbanned to this system for one reason, thats the people this system is going to be in.
I dont think most people want a list of exploiters that people can just pay their way to get out of, I think people would much prefer the only way out of being banned is proving it was a false moderation. So implementing the whole pay to be unbanned for this probably isnt a good idea for an open source list like this.
By that I meant anyone could use it, or at least thats what I thought it was? Maybe there are only select games that can use this, but still then, I dont think most people will like that people can pay their way out of the ban.
Alright, after reading over the replies of others I can agree with most of them even if they are worded poorly or have a negative response instead of being constructive so let me get started.
Why do I believe people have concern using this product?
Many services such as this in the past has ended up with negative reputation from banning randoms, improper bans, and many things I could keep listing. So, how do you plan on combating this? The answer is mainly trust which is not an easy thing at all to gain and must take time.
Why use this instead of your own internal staff team?
I could see an issue with how rules could be view and how harsh they get taken. Thereâs many games that take exploiting as mainly just lets keep kicking the user rather than banning them cause we will just upgrade/fix our anti-exploit.
So, instead of choosing your own actions why not let the developers hard-code in their own responses to their ban handling them as a caution instead of an instant ban, kick, etc. while also implementing a basic version for those who might not be code savy.
This is just my two cups of tea. I do believe in internal staff teams rather than global though.
If you want something good, why do you want people to give up?
I mean, heâs a solo developer, and its intention is good (he doesnât want to get money like some people). Yes, there are some things to improve, it doesnât seem as useful as he thinks, but itâs still a project! Respect each project if you want them to get to something.
I can proudly speak up about why I think itâs bad⊠I have the same opinion as my friend @packpngtexture.
However⊠I can pinpoint exactly why I think there isnât an ounce of good that will come from this ban list⊠and perhaps the ONLY reason I inputted my opinions in this thread is to minimize the damage it will do.
Roblox has already put out a moderation system for their voice chat that automatically moderates people based upon certain flagged terms they use⊠do you know how many people quit voice chat because of the excessive moderation? Nobody does. Roblox will not release a statistic of how many active voice chat users there was previously compared to now because it will DESTROY their public image in the eyes of millions of Roblox players.
This kind of system drives people away⊠and when it does that⊠the people who dared to try this system will also be driven away⊠and then it will all collapse and the creator of this will just dip like the rest of the people who have already made a global ban list for this platform.
Sure next time I see something I donât like Iâll keep my mouth shut because silence will definitely cause the maker of this to abandon his project.
The approach is aggressive. Youâre opposing whoever having a less negative opinion at the situation. This is the creatorâs choice if he wants to stop the project, not you that seems to put other opinions to silence.
You can say it once, but you donât need to leap at people to share your opinion. I donât think itâs worth answering to your replies anymore. I heard your voice, and all I wanted to say is, âstop the projectâ â constructive.
Would you be happy if somebody tries stopping your project aggressively because they think itâs bad?
Man, youâre going to sell unbans. Please read all the thread content, OP is after money as well, we arenât a charity, none of us are.
This project is still a bad idea, everyone has literally said on the thread, this isnât a âYou vs Meâ scenario, this is a âYou vs Everyoneâ scenario, and Iâd thatâs the case, either youâre wrong, or everyone is.
