Night Drive, 3D Render

Finished part of @GeorgeOfAIITrades’s commission and took a little break to render it, this was the result of 9+ hours of work, 6 hours of modeling, 3+ hours of rendering/composing:

Learned a bit today as well, first time using HDRI lighting, and deciding to edit the HDRI colors to suit the background image that the car is projected onto as well as quickly getting myself re-familiarized with volume scattering in blender. End result is better then I expected although got a bit more before I reach the point where model and photo blend seamlessly.

I love the volumetrics and how the water on the sidewalk looks. Great job!

Really great work!

Though I can’t help but notice the road appears to disappear suddenly at the end - this could just be the fog, but the sidewalk on the side continues past that.

Other than that, this is a fantastic render!

Unfortunately, earth is not flat. Also, I’m sure it would fit irl with hills, you can see the lights at the end of the road dip if you look closely! image

I was going to post this and say “Well how do you explain the sidewalk here?”

Then I looked closer around the focal point ( the car) and realized it was on a bridge.
I’m honestly bad with that sometimes.

I think the ‘sidewalk’ is actually the top of the bridge’s railing.

Yep, found out after I woke up it was railing and not a side walk. Sadly the scale of the vehicle is off because of that. However that’s what you get for working on a render when you’re sleep deprived, but the end result is pretty nice. ^w^

Updated OP w/ a tweaked version, greatly like this one more.
