No-lag large scale ocean solution?

Hello, everyone.

I am attempting to create a… somewhat big ocean. Actually, really really really big.
I found that it makes your game lag a lot. Is there any solutions to fixing large scale oceans?
Btw, the majority of the areas between the ocean is not empty. It is land, very small islands.

Sincerely,

I stil have not found a solution… it lags a lot

Try using terrain generator or try multiple places as different locations of your sea for example:

  • Place 1-Deep ocean With great terrains

  • Place 2- Shallow Sea with darker colour of water.

  • Place 3- Some Sort Of Polluted Water Or Dirty Beach Or Something Like Bermuda triangle Where If Someone Enters They Might be Killed by several Ways Such as Shark, Lightining, whirlpool, storm at a certain interval and would have a island to which a player can reach after surviving these calamities as a reward

Are you looking to have the ocean animate, or would you be okay with just a flat, blue, water-looking plane?

Hello one way you could approach this because i have had a similar problem is that you can use StreamingEnabled

This feature allows you to load only the most important assets and the ones in the player’s view instead of all of the features.
StreamingEnabled
Here is a post that explains this.

Don’t know if this is exactly what you’re looking for but this is what I think you need.

If you require boats to travel on this ocean and players are allowed to stop at the multiple small islands, you can still use terrain water but only make it a few studs thick.

You can see an example of this in this game (not my game):

animate. preferably with the default roblox animation.

yup I am aware of this method…
