Normals Acting Weird?

So, I created a quarter inch guitar cable in Blender as a decoration for something.

Don’t worry, I’ve already made sure my Normals are correct, and added Solidify.

If you look closely in this photo, you’ll see that the normals are going left and right. Not forward and back like they are supposed to. It’s only 2 areas. Because of them going the wrong way, Roblox is recognizing it as incorrect normals. Except, I can’t think of a way to fix this. Any ideas?

  1. We need to see what it looks like in Studio since it’s hard to tell what the issue is, please edit your first post to contain that.

  2. Why are you using the Solidify modifier?

I used it because I hoped that would have fixed the issue.

(I asked you to include the picture in your first post so that others don’t have to scroll down to other posts to get all the info)

The Solidify modifier fixes that issue in like the worst way possible by adding a ton of redundant geometry on the inside of the object. Don’t do that :stuck_out_tongue:

Additionally, the better way to show face orientation is by enabling it here, because it gives clear blue and red highlights. The little string method isn’t great for all the purposes.

After enabling this, I have a feeling you’ll see that your normals aren’t, in fact, fixed.

Never knew of that feature. That’s really nice and convenient. Yeah, I am able to see the issue now. Thanks!
