hiiiii. on roblox team create its not allowing me to add my friend to team create. For collaboration it only allows them to play. The dropdown button does not work and there is no way to allow them to edit. Here is a picture of it. ! proof|690x202 I also have enable collaborative editing on. I have never experienced this before! any type of advice how to fix this would be nice!
Go into “Game Settings” in studio and then click on “Permissions”. Then, scroll to the bottom and change your friends permission from “Play” to “Edit”. That should fix your problem.
It only allows me to let them play, not to edit,I have followed all the instructions above but it doesnt work.
wait omg it works! it wouldnt work because we werent friends on roblox! thank you for the help!
No problem, always glad to help.
I am experiencing same issue with a group game. I am friends with other person on Roblox. Have updated admins in group to be allowed to create / edit games. Team Create is on but still the permission button for the other person is still greyed out and shows “play”. Wont allow to change to “edit”. What have I missed?
You cannot edit permission to user when they’re group games
Instead you have to rank them up to higher that allows you to develop a game
This is to prevent adding alot of username in the list to invite them alot
I think this should be a solution for you. If your not friends with that friend on roblox then try send him a friend request and if they accept. then restart the studio and go to the team create permission and click play to edit. this should work.
Thanks, yes I have ranked them up to Admin and allowed admin role ability to edit games.
I am friends with the person on Roblox already.
Well. I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to the girl who made this topic. and the guy that you allowed the ability to edit games can already edit your game. they don’t need team create for it if you have allowed the ability to edit games on their role.
Thanks bud, ill check with him and find out if he can with just the role switch.
This is not an ideal solution, provided I understand it correctly.
I have someone who will be helping with a group game. Why have studio suggest allowing them to edit the game if they must be made a full group admin?
Why must we open potential security holes by elevating a user to full admin in a group just to have any role in editing the game?
If I hire someone to do only one task in my game, I don’t feel comfortable giving them full access and control to the group (including the funds therein) in order to turn on team edit. I think that’s very bad form and unnecessarily risky.
So is this the case? There’s no other way to allow another player to edit my group game without elevating that player to full group administrator?
If you have found a solution for this problem, please share it as I am currently experiencing the same difficulties.

what a ridiculous restriction, if my group has multiple games I don’t want one developer to have access to all of the games other than the one he’s been assigned to work on
+1 this is such a major oversight. I don’t want to give access to all of the games in the group, just one singular one that isn’t even out yet. Why is this impossible on Roblox?
