Not keeping the current tab order

Studio is not keeping the current tab orders after saving the project.

Repro

  1. Open this file: Baseplate.rbxl (21.1 KB)
  2. This is the current tab order:
  3. Change it to:
  4. Save the file
  5. Open it again
  6. The tab order will not have been saved

I don’t think that the tab order saves from files, i think it only saves when you save the game to roblox

Did you test it? Neither case works.
And the order must be saved in any case.

Hi there, thanks for filing this bug report. As per our engineers, Tab ordering is not persistent after closing the file. No IDE / Browser does that. We appreciate the report.

Well, some versions ago, Studio WAS actually keeping the tab order.
Also, even if this were not happening, it would be imperative (and very easy) to record the order of the tabs.
This facilitates the daily workflow when working with multiple scripts simultaneously.

Many programs maintain tab ordering of files or files within directories/projects (I currently have 3 open that do: VSCode, Chrome, Notepad++, and many other programs do this as well). This statement is false.

Sublime text, VS 2017 and Atom also do it and this bug is very annoying.

It seems to be solved with the latest Studio version.
Now, it is not even necessary to save the project to keep the tab order.
Thanks.
