NPC not playing walking animation for MoveTo

Sup, I’m trying to add a walking animation for my custom character who moves from point A to point B to point C and so on.

I already have made the animation and added the Animate script to the NPC I pasted the ID where it’s needed but it still doesn’t play and the NPC just slides around.

I tried to find answers on other posts and sites or at least a different method for it. None of the methods worked.

The rigging for the NPC is fine, I can animate it with no problems but it still refuses to play the animation.
I don’t know if it’s the problem with the joints not being named correctly or something else, but any help would be appreciated.

If any more details are needed then let me know.

Dunno what you are doing without providing code in #help-and-feedback:scripting-support

It’s the Animate script that is by deafult inside your character but sure here it is (It is very long):

local Figure = script.Parent
local Torso = Figure:WaitForChild("Torso")
local RightShoulder = Torso:WaitForChild("Right Shoulder")
local LeftShoulder = Torso:WaitForChild("Left Shoulder")
local RightHip = Torso:WaitForChild("Right Hip")
local LeftHip = Torso:WaitForChild("Left Hip")
local Neck = Torso:WaitForChild("Neck")
local Humanoid = Figure:WaitForChild("Humanoid")
local pose = "Standing"

So you changed the animation id? Cuz in the script the only think you changed was the jump animation id.

Of course I changed it.
aaaaaaaaaaaa(devforum forced me to have atleast a certain amount of characters to post this)aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Is the script a localscript? If so, try changing it to a normal script and setting the RunContext to Client. Also make sure to remove the emote stuff at the bottom of the script.

The script was ServerSided. I had removed the emote stuff from the very start. And changing the RunContext to Client will automatically make it a local script. There were no changes.

You should debug animation to your rig so it works properly.
To do that, you can animate random movements, publish them and play them using server script.

Example:

local rig = (pathtorig)
local animation = (pathtoanimationobject)
local righum = (pathtohumanoidofrig)

local AnimTrack = righum:LoadAnimation(animation)

AnimTrack:Play()
print(AnimTrack)

If your animation is not playing as in the example code it should play then the possible problem is in your rig.

so should I make the path in the animation editor?

Just replace your path to certain object instead of () in each variable input.
In rig variable, you need to set the path to your rig.
In animation variable, you need to set the path to your Animation Instance.
Finally, in righum variable, you need to set the path to the humanoid of your rig.

I figured out that I don’t need the animate script. I just need to add Anim:Play().

This is what I needed to do:

Humanoid:MoveTo(Waypoints1.Pos1.Position)
		Anim:Play()
		Humanoid.MoveToFinished:Wait()

But thanks for trying to help.
