Nvidia introduced Smooth Motion with their 50-series cards, allowing you to add frame generation to most games that don’t normally support it. Enabling this setting prevents the client from getting past the loading screen during startup. Disabling this setting solves the issue.
(Took some time to locate the cause. Figured i’d make a post about it in case someone is pulling their hair out in the future.)
Quick update on this, smooth motion has now been unlocked on 40-series cards as well, meaning this issue will likely be more prevalent among players who accidentally keep this setting enabled.
The update for this came out for RTX 40 series users today and this issue is still happening although most people are saying Roblox just isn’t opening. I’ve tried this and having smooth motion on means Roblox does not open at all and shows no errors or signs of life.
it’s crazy nothing has been done about it ngl, this is so useful ( especially for roblox since a lot of games are not that optimized )
