Handbook for Oceanu
Introduction
Oceanu is a game on the Roblox platform designed to replicate the operations of a real-life aquarium conservation center. Our goal is to showcase not only how aquariums are structured but also the essential roles and responsibilities of their staff. Through our comprehensive in-game handbook and our collection of over a hundred in-game models of real-life fish and coral species, we aim to educate players about the beauty and importance of ocean life. Additionally, we highlight the brave and fascinating work that staff members do at an aquarium conservation center.
Department information
Our staffing system is very different from the typical roleplay games on Roblox. In many games, such as cafes, players are required to rank up in a linear progressionâfor example, moving from kitchen staff to bartenderâwithout the option to remain in their preferred role while advancing. In our game, however, you have the freedom to choose from multiple departments, each with its own unique ranking system. This means youâre not restricted to a single role if you want to grow in rank, giving you more flexibility and control over your experience compared to the average roleplay game on Roblox.
In Oceanu, we have five departments, each with its own specific tasks and ranking system. Joining a department is simpleâthereâs no need to fill out a special application. You can become a member by clicking the âJoinâ button for the group. However, if you want to rank up and unlock additional permissions and gear within a department, youâll need to participate in training sessions. These training sessions are announced on our community hub. More details about these trainings will be explained at the ââTraining informationââ section.

The beautiful aquarium tanks inside our facility are maintained by this department. As an aquarist, you will have the opportunity to dive into these tanks to feed the fish, clean the aquariums, and place or remove fish and corals.

As a Reef Diver, you will explore the vast reef coast near Oceanuâs facility. In this reef, you will encounter various fish and coral species. You will have the opportunity to collect fish and corals from the reef coast and bring them to the facility for research conducted by the marine research department.

Understanding the natural behavior and functions of coral and fish species is crucial. This allows us to determine what each species needs to remain physically and mentally healthy. As a researcher, you will conduct tests on various species and document the outcomes in a detailed report.

Oceanu must ensure that its aquarium tanks and livestock are protected from outsiders. As a security guard, your role is to prevent intruders from sabotaging the aquarium tanks or stealing rare fish and corals stored at our marine research department.

The Oceanu facility needs to transport or receive certain livestock and technical gear to remain functional as an aquarium conservation center. Become an employee of Aqua Logistics, and youâll be able to transport animals and technical gear.
Rank information
Our ranks within departments are divided into 4 categories. This way we can organize our rank structure better and it is more viewable for the general player whose rank is low and high. The higher rank you are in a game the more permissions and in-game gear you receive. Youâll be able to rank up in ranks by following trainings that are announced in our community hub. More details about these trainings will be explained at the ââTraining informationââ section.

Joining any department will automatically rank you as an LR. As an LR, you will begin by learning the fundamentals of your new department. As you progress through training, you will climb the ranks within the LR tier. Each department consists of four LR ranks. While you will have more authority than those in lower LR ranks, you must still follow the instructions of an MR or higher.

After successfully completing four training sessions in the same department, you will be promoted to the MR tier. As you progress through training, you will climb the ranks within the MR tier. As an MR, you will have the ability to assist in trainings and will hold a superior rank over LRs. Your role includes guiding LRs who may be struggling. While you will have more authority than those in lower LR or MR ranks, you must still follow the instructions of an HR, HC, or higher.

It is not possible to achieve a HR by completing training sessions. To become an HR, you must submit a special HR application, which is occasionally announced in our community hub. Only MR are eligible to apply, meaning LRs cannot apply. The only way to progress within the HR ranks is by conducting training/shifts and managing department activities. As an HR, you will hold a superior role over both LRs and MRs and will have access to moderation commands. However, you must still follow the instructions of an HC or higher.

To become an HC, you must first reach the highest HR rank within a department. If there are available HC slots in your department, you will be automatically promoted to HC. As an HC, your duty is to manage the department you oversee. This includes supervising training sessions, overseeing departmental activities, and announcing HR applications. You hold a superior role over LRs, MRs, HRs, and lower HCs, but you are still required to follow the instructions of the department head or higher.

Scenario: You are an LR in one department but an MR in another.
In the main group, your rank will always reflect your highest role, which in this case would be MR. However, in the game, if you enter the department where you are still an LR, your displayed rank will remain LR, and your keycard level will match that rank. The same applies to any in-game permissions tied to your department-specific rank.
Training information
To rank up within a department, you must attend training sessions hosted by department higher-ups. These sessions provide valuable information on how to perform effectively within the department.

How to Enter a Training Session
- Make sure you have joined the departmentâs group on Roblox. We cannot promote you if you havenât joined yet.
- Arrive at least 10 minutes early for the training session.
- Go to the training section of the department hosting the session.
- Take a seat or stand until the host announces the start of the training.
How to Stay in a Training Session
- Do not go AFK (away from keyboard/device).
- Do not speak in chat or voice unless a host gives you permission.
- Follow all instructions given by the staff.
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Unfortunately, we cannot pause the training if you get disconnected.
How to Complete a Training Session
- If you successfully follow all instructions and complete the required exercises, the hosts will grant you a rank-up.
Rules & Guidelines
This section is meant for in-game rules with the goal of helping to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all players.
Perform as the selected team
Our game is designed to be played in multiple ways, depending on the team you selectâReef Divers, Aqua Transport, Security, or Marine Research. The game provides instructions to help you play correctly and smoothly. While you have the freedom to play at your own pace, there are certain limitations. For example, if you choose to play as a Reef Diver, the game will guide you through tasks specific to that role. You are not allowed to take on the responsibilities of another team, such as Security or Marine Research. If you wish to switch roles, you must change to the appropriate team. Violating this rule will result in a verbal warning. If the warning is ignored, you may receive a temporary timeout, preventing you from playing for a short period. However, we do not ban players for this offense.
New players needing help
There will be times when a skill gap exists between new and experienced players, making it difficult for new players to fully understand how to play certain teams. As a new player, the best thing you can do is seek guidance and ask for help from those who are more experienced. As a skilled player, you should always be open to assisting others. If you deliberately refuse to help or provide false information to mislead players, this is considered sabotaging the game. Refusing to provide proper assistance will result in a verbal warning, and if the behavior continues, it may lead to a permanent game ban.
Play fair & honest
Gaining an unfair advantage through cheats, exploiting game bugs or glitches, bribing others for promotions, or engaging in nepotism is strictly prohibited. Misusing tools or permissions in ways they were not intended is also not allowed. Fair gameplay is essential for everyone. Attempting any of these actions and getting caught will result in an immediate permanent game ban without a verbal warning. This rule does not apply to in-game purchasable boosts or items.
Engage respectfully
We expect all players to treat each other with respect. Any form of disrespectful behavior is strictly prohibited, including swearing, bullying, intimidation, racism, sexism, toxicity, and trolling. We believe that anyone with common sense knows how to act respectfully. Do not attempt to find loopholes, such as bypassing Robloxâs chat auto-moderation. Additionally, respecting Oceanu as a communityâspreading false accusations about our developers or the game is not allowed. Violating this rule will result in an immediate game ban without a verbal warning
Respect our moderatorâs
Our moderators, also known as HR & HC (High-Ranked/High Commanding) staff, are here to ensure that Oceanu remains a fun and fair game for everyone. If a moderator instructs you to stop or change something youâre doing in the game, please follow their instructions respectfully. Moderators have the authority to issue verbal warnings, timeouts, or bans to anyone who violates the rules. Please remember that all moderators are volunteers, and they do this as a side hobby in their free time. Bullying or mistreating them for their role in maintaining the game is not allowed and will not be tolerated. This behavior also violates our âEngage Respectfullyâ section, which may result in a permanent game ban.

Report information
- If you witness someone abusing in-game tools, harassing you or others, or engaging in misconduct, please report it discreetly through our community hub inside the contact channel to prevent unnecessary drama or further involvement.
You can also use the contact channel to report in-game bugs or glitches, as well as moderators who abuse their moderation powers.
Appeal information
- Our game and community is protected by our custom anti-cheat, Roblox Basic Moderation & manual moderators. Sometimes it may appear you have been falsely flagged, banned, or moderated in general. You are allowed to appeal any false moderations or report those moderators responsible for it. Appeal through our community hub inside the contact channel.
We do however not accept any appeals that are rightfully issued.

- Representative Information â Provide the Discord and Roblox usernames of the person who will represent your group as an Affiliate Representative by joining our group.
Affiliation Requirements
- Clean Reputation â Your group must have no history of major drama or incidents within the roleplay community.
- Fair Conduct â We do not affiliate with groups that sell ranks or engage in nepotism among staff. We believe in a fair and honest experience for everyone.
- Active Growth â While we donât require a specific member count, your group should show consistent growth, as we do not affiliate with inactive or abandoned groups.
- Security & Moderation â Your group must be well-moderated and have clear rules/guidelines to protect members from harm and drama.
- Engagement â A representative from your group must join and remain in our group and community hub. Additionally, you must have a dedicated channel to announce our affiliation, events, and contentâjust as we will do for you.
Important Note: We do not list your group in the Roblox âaffiliateâ section. However, we will list your group on our website, community hub, and social platforms.
