I’m sorry to hear that you fell victim to one of the classic blunders. This is, however, not the correct place to be reporting yourself as a victim of a scam. You can do that at Roblox Support.

Going forward, if anyone comes to you out of the blue asking to buy your group and request ownership, you should be highly suspicious of that individual, and do NOT transfer ownership until you have either negotiated a legally-binding contract or received payment from that individual before the transfer. Further, if they start asking how much Robux is in your group, you can say with a near-100% certainty that what you are looking at is a scam. Never, ever, ever transfer ownership to someone if the exchange relies on the buyer making good on their word. Remember, they’re coming to you, you’re not going to them. You have the advantage.

Protect yourself from scams by being hypervigilant and highly suspicious of people trying to acquire your group.

As said before, roblox support is not helping me and just keep ignoring my issue, thats why i am here.

While moderation is obviously widely out of touch in many aspects, you should take this as a lesson to stop being so gullible and as mentioned: never transfer anything prior to getting payment transactions, I’m surprised anyone still falls for these so easily, someone’s status as a ‘roblox dev’ shouldn’t ever be taken as a confirmation for them being trustworthy.

It’s good to spread awareness about the individuals involved but there is nothing we as users can help you with on the technical side.

As well put by the person above, if you’re over the age of 18, never make any deals without signing a contract first.

Thanks for your advice, but yea this post is not only about my issue but the issue of illegal scams around Roblox. These guys could be banned easily for these things.

Anyway, i think roblox staff can help me too, but not the one from support ticket (because they are mostly automated replies)

Well posting on the dev forum isnt any different, roblox mods arent going to look here, along with that roblox support cant and wont help you, I dont remember where, but somewhere in the TOS they mention that any purchases you do outside of the platform is not their problem to deal with, even with full proof of being scammed they cannot help you.

Point is support wont help you, as well no duh what I just listed.

Purchase was supposed to be made fully on Roblox. Also the post is to show how big the scam is and im still asking why roblox isnt doing much? Havent they got rule that doesnt allow buying robux outside the platform?
It was mentioned in my post.
It more than some deal outside the platform, and i think roblox should get interesteded.

Why big devs can scam people, but if you do 1 thing bad you can get easily banned?

Thats why im posting this here with hope somone can help me.

Considering the discussion of the purchase was handled outside of the platform roblox wont help much with it (I shoulda stated this instead of what I said, mb).
From the images thats what It looks like.

That is a good point, by again from whats mentioned above, roblox really wont do anything about it, which is a little silly, but it is what it is.

This sorta thing happens all the time, its nothing big enough to get roblox interested.

Cause they know how to get away with it.

I had to use discord to communicate with this guy (he turned out to be a scammer) but he was supposed to purchase robux gamepass after i gave him ownership to my group.

Do you think it would change much if i would talk about deal using roblox chat? Personally i think roblox should consider banning these types of scammers too.

Also as i said its not the only problem. These people are basically selling robux for irl money and still not getting banned (im sure roblox bans many people for it)

So yeah, if you had done the deal completely on roblox they could’ve helped, but again since it wasnt, they simply cant do anything about it.

For instance they cant confirm the discord user you talked to was the owner of x roblox account and yada yada, It’d be a lot of work for em, not matter how much they tried and they probably just dont want to deal with that, thus roblox wont do nothing.

Yes this is indeed an issue, but since most of this stuff seems to be happening off of roblox, and from the look of it no hard proof they wont do anything about it.

Couldnt they see my friends history and transfering history? Based on this they could match it with my messages on discord, etc. Same with crosstrading and stuff.

It doesnt matter if they could, since it was handled off platform there isnt anything they can nor will do.

That is true, My guess is that when you get scammed roblox cant confirm you were actually scammed, for instance all your messages could’ve been forged etc, crosstrading they must have some sort of method for telling if it happens, in that case they deal with it.

But again the point still stands, roblox isnt going to do anything about you being scammed.

It states in there TOS that they wont, they wont. If they do I’d be deeply surprised, if they did they would also be in a lot of trouble they wouldnt want to deal with.

Why trouble? They would literally ban scammers. These scammers are already crosstrading. There is a lot of proofs of their scams.

Cause they dont have the capacity to do that, they simply dont, and if they did it for one person everyone would want them to do it for them and things would spiral out of control.

I see your idea. But I think they could do something with scammers and improve their way of handling scams.

And I talk about these big ones (in which big devs are involved) Its not about “i gave my password to scammer” but more like selling stolen robux, groups, games, etc. Using other big devs to hide you (giving group roles, etc.) while you scam somone.

And thats my point, its not only this case, there may be even more big scams going around and roblox should start doing something.
