When I go to uncopylocked maps I always find these 2 folders (image above) that are called “Instances in nil” and “local player”. Are these two folders related to some kind of hack?
Almost definitely. In-game explorers like Dex are used by exploiters and some exploit programs have a saveinstance()
method which can download the game including localscripts and modulescripts, and these account for any thing parented to nil as well
if I make a script that detects these folders, it destroys, this can serve to prevent this type of hack?
I am guessing the folders are inserted at the end so you wouldn’t be able to, even if you do the exploiter can just bypass your detections.
Dex Folders = Starter Player , and Nil Instances
Let me make something clear. I have a friend that uses dex and I ask him to leak me everyonce in a while cause I am bored and need something to test some leak protection. And I can for sure say that those folder can be a sign that the map was leaked. And I know people may get mad or fight me on this, but none of those scripts/parts or what have you are harmful. Now, if the place was uncopylocked, report it to Roblox, and if you can, the orriginal owners.
sorry report what to roblox?
A Uncoppylocked Game?
Firstly, I’d recommend against using uncopylocked maps in your game, and, secondly, yes, most likely they are malicious scripts.
They are not malicious. There is nothing in them that can harm your game unless a game already had them. Synapse’s Dex save file are safe.
If you believe the game was stolen.
