One month of building; feedback needed

Ive been learning Roblox studio building for around a month now. I do not think my builds are absolute dog water but i dont think they are good either. My biggest problem is adding depth to builds.

So far ive made a modern russian housing block (apartment) and a couple of walls alongside a tiny american house. My main rule of thumb is to never build anything that won’t be seen naturally. I plan on building american apartments next. Any feedback?

You’re off to a great start! The structure is clean, and your proportions feel realistic — which is already a big win. One thing that will really level up your build is depth. Right now, everything feels a bit “flat” because the walls, door, and windows are all on the same surface level.

Here are a few quick tips to improve that:

  • Use insets and extrusions: Push windows slightly inward and have frames pop out a bit. Same with the door.
  • Roof trim, gutters, or overhangs: These tiny details add realism and layering.
  • Use parts for window sills, shutters, or ledges — they break the flatness.
  • Try beveling edges (or using parts that give that illusion). Even small shifts in geometry give nice shadows.
  • Vary materials slightly — like using a smoother concrete base and rougher brick upper wall.

You’re clearly getting the hang of scale and layout, so just keep practicing! Goodluck!

Your progress over one month is very good! Awesome job on it! The house looks great! How long did it take to build? What else will you build?

Took around 2 hours (i didn’t count how long it took next time i should)
I’m going more for an urban building style so i might practice making interiors and whole apartments next

One question i have is how do i make roof trim corners efficiently? (excuse the random text i just dont have any other good example to put here)
