One Question Survey: How Should Guns Be Handled?

Hello, I am making a game based off the popular movie, “The Purge.” I am taking large steps in ensuring that the idea is sound, and all pillars of development are air tight. I have taken courses in game design, and a popular theme is giving surveys to get a feel for what players would want.

Not only am I asking for your help, but I would also appreciate links or references to other places I could post this survey. Thank you!

When it comes to weapons how should it go:

A) A load out screen where players can permanently purchase guns to use when the round starts

B) Guns spawn randomly within houses, that players can loot during the round

C) Players have a budget each round to spend on various resources

D) Other

I say C Because it sounds more challenging.

C sounds like a really cool game concept, maybe also add certain preset packs that make it easier for new players, and allow players to save their own custom packs. However, it might also be good to spread some resources around the map so that players will have to compete for them.

A is super overused in the gun game industry, use B and it turns into a battle royale / apocalypse rising game (which might be what you want). I would use C since it isn’t commonly used as much as the other two.

If you use C I would recommend switching up the available weapons each round for purchase (to avoid monotony).

I think you should use C.
I haven’t seen many games use this mechanic, and it certainly seems like it would be enjoyable.
