When uploading an icon or thumbnail, before it is accepted it gets moderated, so the icon or thumbnail is temporarily replaced with the pending moderation icon/thumbnail image.
If it was changed so it only switched to the new thumbnail/icon after it has been moderated, it doesn’t mean that the game will have a generic pending icon or thumbnail for around 15 minutes, which can push people away from a game because there is nothing to draw the player in or catch their attention.
In conclusion, what I am suggesting is that when you upload a new thumbnail or icon, it doesn’t switch to the generic pending moderation icon or thumbnail, but rather keeps the old thumbnail or icon until the new one is accepted, and then switches it to the new one.
Today i had to update my game icon multiple times as the text was extremely blurry on the frontpage, yet it was fine on the homepage.
I had to mess around doing tons of changes and see if it made the text less blurry, but everytime i updated the icon, the icon changed to the pending icon, which looked very weird on the frontpage.
People cant find my game with the pending icon and it should keep the old icon until the updated icon gets approved, so that people dont have issues with finding my game.
The pending icon stays there for 5 minutes to even 2 days! tons of people would miss my game because of this.
