North Star Game Studios is looking for an experienced Roblox Scripter (Systems Engineer I) for an upcoming game project. We are a diverse team of experienced entrepreneurs looking to break into Roblox game development and it’s respective communities.
This is a task/contract based position with a deadline of 3-4 weeks from start date. There is potential for part-time/full-time long term depending on the candidate. We are a growing company looking for people who want to grow with us. Learn more about our team on our website.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of OOP methodology.
- Comfortable working with tables, dictionaries, arrays, etc.
- Proficient in working with ProfileService.
- Proficient in DataStoreService and best practices.
- Proficient in Remote Events/Functions and Server to Client networking
- Organized individual and understands fundamental best practices.
- Can work independently given clear goals and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- GitHub/Rojo Workflow Familiarity
- Familiarity with Maid
Task Breakdown
NO GUI WORK IS NEEDED.
- Player Inventory/Shop (ProfileService - only need setup/initialization, loading, and saving (+purchase/add/remove functions) of complete data hierarchy listed below)
- Emotes (Spawnable item [table/array])
- Dances (Purchasable [table/array])
- Props (Purchasable/equippable items[table/array])
- Titles (Equippable overhead GUI[table/array])
- Owned Gamepasses [table/array]
- Player Stats [dictionary]
- Level
- XP
- Minutes
- Seconds
- Bools for various checks
All systems should be built with modularity and ease of use in mind.
Availability
Developers are remotely-distributed and are expected to maintain clear and open communications regarding task statuses.
Payment
Payment in USD (via PayPal) or Robux equivalent (minus tax), percentage is also an option but needs to be discussed. Depending on experience: $100+ USD, negotiable.
