[OPEN/FOR HIRE] Experienced Danish Translator

Hello, my name is Philleco and I’m an experienced Danish translator. Feel free to keep on reading as you might be interested!

About me

I’m a 16 year old boy. I was born in Denmark where we speak danish, so I’m fluent. I have been on Roblox for around 3-4 years now, and therefore I also gained a lot of experience in the English language, since there’s not many Danish people on Roblox. Well, it’s quite rare to meet Danish people in some games.
I have quite a lot of experience in translating Roblox games (into Danish :denmark:), as I’ve been doing that for around 2,5 years now.
I have learned a lot throughout the time as Roblox translator. I have mainly been translating on the translator portal, so I know how that works. My very recent big job was/is at Fishing Simulator, and they have a lot of strings compared to what I used to translate. More about that in the next paragraph.
To prove that I am actually a danish-speaking person, I’ll just write a random thing here: Hej, jeg er en dansk Roblox oversætter med erfaringer. Jeg har været oversætter i omkring 2,5 år og har haft mange af oversættelserne på Roblox’ Oversættelses-portal. Jeg tænke lige jeg kunne skrive lidt på dansk her, for at bevise at jeg rent faktisk er en dansk oversætter.

Previous jobs & experience

As said, I’ve been translating on roblox for some time, and I’ve done quite a lot of different jobs.
I was hired at GLS (Global Localization Services), but sadly had to resign from my position as danish translator due to some private reasons (didn’t have anything to do with roblox, just private life). There we had several jobs with deadlines and a teamwork of translators.
My very recent big job was/is at Fishing Simulator. I was/am hired and off the bat and there were 800+ strings ready to be translated. It took me around 1-2 weeks in total for me to get everything translated and perfectly done. Of course there are updates and changes to games, so I also have experience with deadlines and changes within a short time of period.
I have also been translating Car Dealership Tycoon and Vehicle Tycoon. It had less strings, but of course there were still deadlines & updates I had to do.
I have translated more games, but I don’t wish this to be an entire story about my time as translator, but more useful information.

Hiring & Pricing

I am most likely available for any translations you might wish me to do, so feel free to message me. It can be a one-time job, it can also be a long-time job where I stay as translator for future updates, if that’s what you’d like. I’m very active on Discord and Roblox every day. I can meet deadlines and do the translation job within a short time of period.
I know not many people like to pay expensive translators, and that’s also why I made it a part of this “recruitment letter”.
I wish to be a fair and a non-expensive translator, so I made some different prices based on how many strings you have/you’d like me to translate.

  • Bewteen 0-400 strings, 125 R$ per string
  • Past 400 strings, 100 R$ per string
I think these prices are fair since I’m an experienced Danish translator on Roblox. I also believe that the prices are fair, due to that I am very active and I’m doing a great job to get the translations done quickly and at the same time done perfectly.

Note: Prices can be discussed, so feel free to message me on Discord or here on the Developer Forum. I’m mainly active on Discord.

I’ve never really understood the meaning of translators on Roblox as what’s stopping developers from using services like Google Translate or some other translating service? Is there any key differences that I should be aware of?

I mean, I don’t use Google Translate myself, but google translate is not a good or secure way to translate your games. It has a ton of grammatical errors.
I do not suggest it, as it can bring confusion to the player, instead of actually improving the game. :slightly_smiling_face:
Here you’re paying for the quality of the translations, and you’re kind of guaranteed that there won’t be big mistakes in the translations, as Google Translate would’ve given you.
Here’s a brilliant example:

Ok, so “Du skal gå din vej” actually means “You must leave”, but google translate actually think I mean “You must go your way”, which is what it’s actually saying in Danish. Google translate isn’t smart.

I’ve had very little issues with google translate cause when I translated this string
“Hej, jeg er en dansk roblox oversætter med erfaringer. Jeg har været oversætter i omkring 1,5-2 år og har haft mange af oversættelserne på Oversættelses-portalen. Jeg tænke lige jeg kunne skrive lidt på dansk her, for at bevise at jeg rent faktisk er en dansk oversætter.”

It got translated to this
“Hi, I am a Danish roblox translator with experience. I have been a translator for about 1.5-2 years and have had many of the translations on the Translation Portal. I’m just thinking I could write a little in Danish here, to prove that I’m actually a Danish translator.”

I’m not sure how that’ll confuse people who know English as I know the point that you’re trying to come across with that message

I have updated my previous message. Refresh your page and read that. :slightly_smiling_face:

It isn’t professional at all. Google Translate does way to literally translations. That is cringy for native speakers of a language.
