[OPEN] GBA10's Portfolio in Music

:musical_keyboard: About Me

Yo! I’m GBA10 (aka SynthScholar10), a music producer who specializes in making tracks that sound reminiscent of NES and Sega Genesis / Mega Drive games. I’ve been producing tracks for about 5 years, but I’m still young and hungry for more knowledge and experience, and want to learn from what I’ve done before.

I’ve started off by putting my own spin on existing video game themes, but just recently, I’ve moved onto original music composition, as I wanna show the world my own vision and expression. Whether you want a 8-bit style or 16-bit style, I’m ready to match your vision!

Showcase

I’ve composed a full 30-track soundtrack for a game Mega Man Advantage, a game that pays homage to classic MM games. Here are examples:

Dr. Luakov’s Fortress 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuJdhe90KHE

Hydro Man’s Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0b4ChVdFN1Q

CD Database: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwWFRfn1Kjc

I’ve also done five Sega Genesis-style demo tracks that I want to show you, ranging from calm, atmospheric vibes, to distorted hard rock all while trying to keep true to the soundchip.

However, if you want your themes to go past these limits, I’m also able to do create those type of tracks.

Availability

Currently OPEN for commissions! On the weekdays, I’m usually available from 3pm-9pm due to school. On the weekend, I’m available almost whenever.

Payment

I prefer USD via PayPal or CashApp, but if you want to pay Robux through group funds or gamepasses, that’s alright with me. But like most other devs on this site, I don’t prefer percentage revenues unless your game is actively generating profit.

Pricing may vary depending on complexity of tracks as well.

Why Hire Me

  1. I create multiple versions and work-in-progress updates so you’re involved every step. No surprises - you hear the evolution from concept to completion and get exactly what you envision.

  2. I understand actual hardware limitations, sound channels, and overall characteristics of classic consoles. Whether you want me to work on a theme within these limitations or bypass them, I’m your guy.

  3. I compose thinking about your game mechanics e.g. fast platformers get driving rhythms. Puzzle games get engaging yet thoughtful loops.

  4. Every track is crafted for seamless looping with no awkward gaps or jarring restarts.

  5. Consistent updates with actual audio previews, not just “still working on it” messages. You always know exactly where your project stands.

  6. Whether you need happy carnival vibes, dark dungeon atmosphere, peaceful vibes, or battle-type energy, I can produce music that fits any mood while staying true to that classic 8-bit/16-bit sound.

  7. No hidden fees or surprise charges. The quote includes all revisions, file formats, and stems if needed later.

  8. And most importantly, every approved project ends with a high five - because completing awesome music for your game deserves a moment of shared excitement!

Extras

To show you how much I improved on making music sound more crisp, here’s highlights of my very first OST I’ve been working on back when I was 12 - a Sonic fangame:
