[OPEN][%] Need a long-term builder (maps) and a long-term modeler (smooth-meshes + textures) to join Glitch-E Games and help work on Gravity Gunners!

About Us

We are Glitch-E Games, and we are looking for a builder and a modeler.

We have no progress to show, because the game will not be starting development until we have everyone ready, and that means having the team filled up.

About the job and game

This job will be long-term, and we wan
The game will have wacky physics and cool gravity change. I don’t want to do low poly as it is kind of common (and I don’t mean to offend anyone but it at least slightly easier at least from my perspective of modeling) and the game might have custom characters (I don’t know if roblox characters will look very good in this game so actually let’s change that to a probably) and finally it will be mainly an FPS.

What we are looking for (About the job)

Applies for both roles

We need someone who has good social skills, can communicate well, can work at least 1 hour a day AND communicate with me in that time (my timezone is GMT-5 so make sure your schedule works with that), can do voice chat (be able to make input, and also listen to others and myself) AND can do the following:

Builder only

  • Make intermediate in detail - level maps for the environments where players will be put in
  • If something you are building needs to be scripted or work with something else that another person manages, let me or that other person know, so I / the other person can give you proper instruction on how to make it optimized.
  • Need to be able to work with me to make the build and environment work (Environment might be built with parts or terrain, either way I will be doing it)
  • Need to be able to collaborate with other builder to make maps, or learn each other’s styles or agree on one so that maps are easier to be made optimized for gameplay.

Modeler only

  • I don’t want low poly, I am planning on having not too realistic but higher poly. I want this game to look a bit more smooth and less pointy and obvious vertices in meshes, so if you can’t do that then you may not be right for the job.
  • Make intermediate in detail - level props for environments where players will be put in
  • If it is a mesh that requires scripting or needing to be affiliated closely with a build, you need to be able to make it compatible with it. Myself or the builders will give you proper instruction on how to make it optimized.
  • Need to be able to make various guns meshes (I will instruct you on guns you need to make, you can also add your own gun ideas, but for most guns you will most likely have to make them in pieces, so they can be animated, and I will give you proper instruction on what to make separate)
  • Might need to be able to make custom character parts (I can do the rigging, but you will need to optimize it to be rigged (This just means making the parts have round, overlapping ends where they intersect where the motor6Ds will go))
  • Like it is stated in the title, you will not only make meshes but must make textures.

The team is moderately-sized and kind of indie for right now, but if we get paid quite a lot and our game is successful, we could maybe grow our team to help make more games, but only if we are making enough money, so you won’t lose anything.

About the job

This job is going to be long-term, and we hope to develop more games after this one. I might be able to pay in cash once we get this game up and going. If you can do well for this game, you will be kept for later games.

For builder

Since you are getting a high payment, that means you must work hard. You will need to make various maps, and might get paid more later; payments are negotiable, and you might get a raise later using the extra money we earn that will be used for ads originally but later be used for extra payment + raises. I might chip some out of my own payment for you or for everyone else if needed.

For modeler

I know some people might say 8% is low, but prices are negotiable, and since a lot of extra percent will be left out, once advertising isn’t needed as much, we will be able to give more percent. This means that you could get a huge raise if you work hard. I am also even willing to take my own percent and chip some out to give it to you (and everyone else) if needed.

Communication

We will mainly be using discord to chat, as it has much more capability than many chat tools. We might use a note app like trello, if needed, but discord is our primary source, so if you would like to apply, have a discord account ready.
The discord server we will be chatting on will have a few sections, being:

  • Public / Community section (Our gamers and fans who play our games will be able to chat in here once the game is up)
  • Development Section (For our development-related chat, also some fun hangout chats for us)
  • Other chats (hiring chats for if we want to add to our team later, contributor and moderator chats for those people, etc.)

I know a decent amount of node js and discord’s api at the moment, but I am still learning. I am mentioning this because we might want a custom discord bot later, but we won’t be able to afford a server for it until we start making money, but I could probably run it on my raspberry pi for right now. For right now, however, we will most likely just sue simple and common bots to spice the server up until I can make one. About contributors, they will be sort-of like people who offered us help by doing things that are sort of related to development but not all the way… it is complicated, but in short, they “make contributions.” Currently I don’t have any, and I don’t think we need any right now.

Finally, if you have any more questions, reply below, and don’t say I didn’t give enough information, because I am up to answer ANY questions. I just only want to put the information I think everyone needs for right now, but if you need by more, then of course I can answer your questions.

If you would like to apply, I expect you to have work ready. This means have at least 1-10 quality meshes ready to be shown via image. They can be in a link to your portfolio, and they can also be just uploaded right then and there, but you need to have them ready. After that, I will ask you if you agree that you can do this and that you can do everything I said in the requirements for the job, and please don’t skip over this like some random terms of service page, treat it like it is like when you are applying to a college. This means think for a while and make sure you can do it, and then submit and you will be on the applicants list. I will then wait for a few more people, and then I will find whoever seems best fit for the job. If I don’t pick you, I will simply say in the DMs. If I do pick you, I will tell you that you are hired and send you an invite link. Please, don’t act angry if you aren’t hired, because I am just trying to make sure that my team is as a good as it can be.
