Hi there! We are Kohau, a small upcoming restaurant group. We’re looking for a scripter who is willing to join our team and work with us on our restaurant.

About The Job

We are looking for a professional scripter to join our team. We expect high quality scripting and animation to enhance the general experience. Good communication skills are appreciated; we check team progress every 2-3 days or so and want to maintain a healthy relationship with one another.

The initial theme is Japanese culture, and lowpoly.

A portfolio is needed, and will benefit us.

Our game needs at least 30 new assets animated and scripted by the end of April.You can see what we require scripted here.

  • We’d also like you to be able to script custom admin systems with material UI [I can provide design if needed]
  • Music systems
  • Gamepasses scripted,
  • Custom cooking system [kind of like a simulator vibe]

Payment

We are paying in my only limited [peanut butter sparkle time] which I have earned throughout my commissions, and an added lump sum of R$ 5,000 coming from our investor. A percentage of revenue can also be discussed.

That’s around 40 hours of work for 31.9k robux (112 US$ according to devex rates) Which is around 2.8$ per hour. You can do the calculations yourself but I’m sure that’s below minimum wage in most countries. This is assuming that the value of your limited never increases or falls.

You should consider offering a percentage alongside, as this would probably not be very sufficient for the amount of hours you’re expecting. Just my opinion.

We’ve thought about this, but I’m not sure what I can really offer as a 14 year old, however I take several commissions, which is a way I can pay more on top of this. Yet on the other hand, a way of solving this is to reduce the amount of assets & meshes which need to be scripted.

I see you wanted gamepasses scripted, which suggests you’re looking to monetize the game. As suggested above maybe a percentage of the profit could be a suitable form of payment?

Yes, that’s a good recommendation, how much would you give? (i’ve never dealt with monetization for a scripter)

This is definitely open to debate but for the amount of work you’re looking I’d say at least 30-40%, again this is based off of what you’ve specified in your post. I don’t think that those figures for the amount of time scripting assets will take are accurate, and I’m assuming in reality it will be less hours of work (depending on the scripter(s)).

That’s what I was thinking, if the assets are the same types, it shouldn’t take as long as I’ve stated, but I will add on 25% of game revenue, so in total [going upon value], the scripter will be paid 35k and then 5k on top. So, I assume around that’s the biggest they’ll get on this project, as it’s pretty non-profit.

I would just keep it at percentage + some robux bonus. Don’t give away all of your robux now, because you’ve added on a percentage.

The robux is from an investment of 30,000R$, which we are planning to spend on advertisement, sponsorships, and development, but we do have the 25,000R$ just in case, which may come in handy.
