Recently, I have been seeing a few, relatively smaller games opening up the same exact game, twice, and providing them with the same updates when they had them. I am wondering if this is a bad idea or not. It could provide a completely different set of audience a different game, as my bigger audience is not my my main group.
Thanks for your submitting your take on this in advance!
Having a duplicate experience with the same place file uploaded to them? I don’t see a point unless they’re separate groups, in which case that’s not ethical imo.
Why can’t both audiences play one experience? Sounds confusing for the player. If the developer were to offer microtransactions, it’d be dishonest to the purchaser unless you checked cross-experience if they purchased a gamepass on either side. Though that also opens up the headaches of dealing with refund requests from people purchasing it twice… more reason to just do one experience.
No, there would only be purchases from one experience. I have a much more popular group on a different account, and I am thinking maybe the one on the other account would do better.
I agree. For your game’s/group’s success, try to funnel as many players into the same game as possible. The more other players there are to play with, the more active your game will be seen by your player base.
If you have a clear delineation between the two groups, consider utilizing private or VIP servers, or different game modes depending on the audience.
