Opinion on my animations?

Okay so this is my first slash animation meant for a tool and i honestly want some feedback. This is my 3rd animation ever made and i think it turned out good except the hand looks kind of wonky.

So give me your opinions and things to improve on in my future.

(Converting it to a mp4 made it look extremely laggy its way faster in actual game)

Not really a game just practice, but thank you! Hope all goes well for you too.

It looks like an animation you’d see in a professionally made game. Good job!

This animation looks great! Nice job on it! How long did it take to make?

Thank you, and it took around 15 - 20 minutes i had to restart once

Looks great, maybe just one foot moving a little bit forward to make it look more realistic (you wouldn’t slash something with your sword without moving your legs). Except that, it’s PERFECT! :star:

Thank you! i updated the animation a bit and included what you said, thanks for your feedback.

No problem, happy to help!

Keep making amazing animations!

Consider adding sort of air slash vfx. It will look more great! Also consider not being on a linear speed, When the character pulls up the sword, make it slow, But when the character swings it, increase its speed as it go ahead, Increase the speed exponentially from there.

Im not worried about vfx this is purely an animation test, thanks for your recommendation i improved after this post

I’m not a pro animator any means but:

  1. The direction of the sword movement doesnt seem to be uniform. Image the tip of the sword making a trail. You want to have the trail a curve in 2 axis’s but not all three, as it is now. It would be better if the slashes trail look 2d from a side angle. Idk if there is a better way to explain. But a rule of thumb is to keep all movements in an arc/curve
  2. There needs to be a slower anticipation with a powerful middle slash, followed by a slow wind down again. Right now the speed feels all the same.
Otherwise, amazing for your 3rd animation. :star:

Add some easing in your animation toolkit. Easing gives some sort of feelings to animation.
