I’ve been trying to come up with a game idea for a while, and I currently have 2 ideas, and I’m not sure which to choose since I like them both a lot.
One idea is a game similar to the Shelter game series and The Red Lantern, where you are an animal [not sure what animal yet] and have to protect your babies + yourself. It would most likely progress the same as The Red Lantern, where you and your babies travel and have to make decisions along the way. It would be singleplayer with NPC babies and threats.
The other idea is a psychological horror/puzzle escape room game, similar Escape Room and Identity Fraud. A puzzle example would be wires that you have to find out the pattern for to turn on power. The puzzles would be [mostly] logic based, not luck based. It would have the option of multiplayer and singleplayer.
Which seems more appealing to you? If you need more details of either game I can share more.
I think crafting original ideas with keeping in mind the Roblox players would be preferable for you.
Secondly you shouldn’t do a poll about what appeals to us but you should’ve been thinking about what would be the target groups for both game. If you can find out who would like your games and who wouldn’t like then you can come up with a target groups and you can talk with them about the games.
I’m not sure, but to me Single player games are bit harder to pull off, as its just harder to retain player attention with NPC’s. Also, as with any story based game, replayability (or replay value) is much harder, requiring constant updates (replaying the same story isn’t as fun as the first time). I think the second option is better, as it is multi player and should be replayable (especially if the chalenges are hard, or the gameplay is exiting, like Granny or Flee the facility). Although either will work if its well made, and the first idea seems interesting and new, and might be worth trying out.
