Opinions on my cafe/home store build?

I’ve been building this random build recently and I’d like to know what I could add/change to it.
Please note that it’s still a WIP so some stuff isn’t done yet (interior for example).

I’ll probably sell it off as a small cafe or home store so please have that in mind when giving your opinion.

Edit: I’ll add more windows then. Also, I’m not going to add terrain until I’m done with the interior.

One window on the side isn’t enough in my opinion. Maybe make 2-3.

If you will sell it you should put it on a terrain. Like the beach or something like that.

Was thinking about that but I reminded myself that terrain is my Achilles heel…

Looks pretty good! I’d recommend that you perhaps give the inside a little color.

I really like the design, once you finish the interior post more pictures so we can give advice on that. I agree with the above post about the side window. Maybe 2 or 3 would be better!

Or make one large window, that would be cool too

My opinion is you can add one window on each side and you can also make some chairs, tables and design the inside, and a order counter…

I dig the aesthetic! Nice work on this.

  • I think its just me, but that middle column probably shouldn’t be going down to the pathway, because it’d be blocking foot traffic. Here’s a 5 minute edit to show you what it could look like without it:

  • Maybe that doorway should have automatic doors too, otherwise that middle pillar would block traffic as well.

  • More side windows, as Slayin said.

Otherwise, good job, this could work well as a homestore or restaurant or something.

Looks amazing. Maybe add a little bush along this wall.

I think it’s a nice design. There are a few things you need to think about though.

  • Lighting, does everything stay well lit when it’s night time? It seems like you’ve added some sort of surface/point lights in there, but when it’s night, you can really see shadows and such.

  • Size. If this was going to be a cafe/home store, it would be pretty small.

  • I think the internal flooring could be more detailed. You detailed the bricks on the stairs and the floor out the front of the building, but inside is just a single part. (Still looks good, but you can always make things look even better).

  • And of course, terrain (or a nature design using parts outside the building) would be your next step, as well as decorating the structure, inside. (Unless you decide to sell it without the external features).

Everything else seems pretty nice. I like how you’ve added the indent in the roof, to give extra detail:

I also like the entrance but could look better with some plants. I would be highly surprised if this didn’t sell, you’ve done a good job so far.

Well done! :v:

Changed the lighting settings to Compatibility just so I can see what I’m doing inside. Will change it once I’ll be working on the lighting.

I wasn’t planning on making it bigger tho I may look into that too.

There is plenty detail for the front of the building, so I’d probably keep that all the same.

The main problem is that with no idea for the layout of the interior, it’s making the walls seem too enclosing w/ not enough windows. Could you possibly provide a gray map of the interior, such as idea of where the counter, tables, etc things for a cafe would be?

Also for a suggestion w/ interior, make sure to possibly add posters or pictures w/ frames on the walls.

I feel like only having one window to the sides isn’t enough. You should add more to sides, but besides that, it looks good!

In my opinion, too much detail will kill the aesthetics of the building as well as make the place laggy for some devices once I’m done.

Can’t really provide it since I don’t know what I’ll do with it.

I’m no builder but to me this looks more usable as a beach house than an outlet or café of any kind.

Regardless of it’s purpose, the design is looking swell. I especially like how you built the actual bricks for the building base as opposed to using a texture or anything.

The only two real qualms I have are the lack of windows (which have been pointed out several times) and the walls. They look a little too flat and on the interior screenshot, it looks like the window frame comes out of the wall instead of being inside it.

As you can see in the last picture, some walls are covered by a white part while the other still aren’t. I extended the frames just so I won’t have to do it later when I’m adding the inner parts.

I was referring to the walls that were already covered and how they look relatively bland, but the window frames I didn’t see that they were awaiting the interior walls.

I mean, I can understand that it is a work in progress, though this is one of the more opportune times to add potential designs (stripes or lines, maybe?) to the walls.

Maybe add like terrain and vegetation.

I’m not even done with the building :joy:
