Opinions on my upcoming obby

Just wanted to clarify that it’s quite early on for it’s development but I have a couple of levels done.

Let me know what I should add and what I should change in the current obby.

Thanks

I think the gui is a bit intrusive. You might want to shrink it by an amount, and pick slightly less eye-stabby colors.

If you know how to script well, I would suggest that instead of creating a bunch of guis in the same spot each time a player starts a stage, to instead change the text of an already existing gui. That way when the player reaches a new stage the text changes if they kept the big gui open and they don’t have to click [x] for a pile of guis.

Also work on your building a bit more. You can go for a studs style, I sure dig it, but in that case make sure to use a grid and have parts use an exact stud size. It looks really disjointed right now since all the parts have a random size. Alternatively just change their material to something interesting. Oh and make sure lava jumps aren’t using neon. It makes it really hard to do them since neon makes the whole area white and glowy with high settings.

But it was kinda fun! Plus the gui idea in your game is a fun one. It’s a bit of a shame how short it is.

As the others have said, the colors of the GUIs are a little too bright for some people. I suggest trying out something like this:
WhatYouCouldDoInstead
Obviously you could change it more (colors, overall style, font, etcetera), but the basic concept is there.

If you do pick different colors, here’s a tip:
Lights go towards yellow, get less saturated and more bright
Darks go towards purple, get more saturated and darker

I agree the coloring could be much better. Also, when tweening, I don’t think it’s a good idea to make it tween all the way from the top. It doesn’t seem to fit well, and it also gives the feeling that it’s taking up the screen . I would prefer it coming in from the bottom rather than the top. Also, I think it would look better if the X wasn’t jutting out of the frame. Oh, and I’d recommend you experiment with UICorners, they can make your UI look really good. As far as building goes, I like it.

If your GUIs use offset, consider changing it to scale.

To use this plugin, select your GUI and on the plugin will be 4 buttons.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Size
Scale | Offset
Position
Scale | Offset
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Press both Scale buttons.

Also, rotate the spawns so when you respawn, you face the direction you’re supposed to go in.

You might want to remove the forcefield or shorten them to a time of 1-3 seconds.
