These are UI I’ve made for a game I’ve been working on for the past few years and I’d like to share the evolution of the same UI panel throughout the years, and I would like to know what you guys think about it and if there’s anything I can do to make it even better in the future
Is this a cartoony kind of game or more realistic looking?
The 3rd gen image you showed seems to have clearer lines and more distinction. This would be my choice for a bright, fun kind of game
The 4th gen seems to be blurry and a bit washed out (it may just be the screenshot). To me this seems like something you’d see in a more realistic world type of game.
It’s a cartoony looking game fyi and also thanks for pointing out the blurry picture, I’ve updated it with a higher quality one
Even though the 3rd Gen might look more fitting for the game I had to make the 4th version as the 3rd design was too big on the screen and it was using some outdated methods of laying out the UI plus it’s difficult to port it to mobile and it had several scaling issues too, the 4th design is much more simplistic and smaller on the screen so it should help with user experience
My only piece of advice would be take the Sharpness and Clarity of the 3RD Image, and combine it with the smoother, and more game-like font from the 4TH Image.
I think you’ve progressed fairly well other than that.
Ah, ok.
Are the new buttons just going to be labelled 1-4, or are you going to use similar naming as the previous UIs?
Just because if a player doesn’t know what 1 is for they’d be a little lost while playing.
I intend to keep the 1-4 labels, and it won’t be an issue for the players as most of them already know just by assuming what the functions are, and even if it’s a new player they’ll adapt quickly since the system itself is pretty basic and simple
