Opinions on walking in an adventure game

I’m designing a larger, dynamic map and I’m concerned that walking / running might make the gameplay feel tedious for players. While I’m considering adding vehicles to speed up travel, I’m unsure if they fit with the core concept of the game.

If there are alot of points of interest, activity and random events within reasonably short distances, would the default way of moving turn you away from the game?

  • No, I don’t mind
  • Yes, I would like to see something more
