I have been noticing in #help-and-feedback:scripting-support that OP’s when their posts do not get any attention, they will just repost their topic. Though making duplicate posts is frowned upon, and I am not sure in what cases you can bump so what can these posters do when their post does not get any attention? Should they just bump it (in a reasonable timeframe of course)?
Bumping is generally frowned upon, but there are situations where it makes sense (i.e. when you’re adding a significant amount of new information to the thread). As for duplicate topics, those are never allowed and should be flagged.
I’ve been told bumping is also frowned upon. If you don’t get a response, try adding more clarity in a subsequent post with things you’ve tried to do since the post to fix it. I know technically you could just edit the post, but I think that might make it continue to move down on the thread list.
It’s a lose-lose situation. Bumping can only be done if
And duplicates cannot be done. So what is done? Their post is drowned forever. Can their post just request to be deleted and then remake it because there is no longer two posts of the same issue, only one.
Well, the idea is that if you create your thread as well as you can, and you’ve included all relevant info, someone should be willing/able to help you. If you don’t get any help, you can try to rephrase your question in a way that will be more understandable.
Yeah that was what I had in mind and what I was expecting. Maybe it is fault of the OP for not explaining properly. Or maybe the reverse - the question is too advanced. So many possibilities as to why!
