Hello there! I’m currently thinking of making a few custom weapons for a game I’m making and was wondering what modelers would consider a safe amount for around 15~ of these.
Due to my very brief knowledge in blender so far, I wanted to figure out what’s considered optimized inside of ROBLOX’s engine.
TLDR: Safe triangles count for multiple custom meshed weapons?
It depends on the details you want to add. If you are going low poly-ish design then something about 5k~ triangles would be perfect! If you are going for a high poly design like I did, then atleast 10k triangles would be good. If your model goes higher than that like I did with mine (~30k+ tris) then you should use modifiers in blender to tone it down. Especially modifiers like Decimate > Planar. Use Decimate > Planar only if you are using Sub-Division modifiers (like I did). Though, there is a chance that it may show some artifacts but you can fix them by tuning down the Planar modifier.
I almost forgot that roblox already optimizes your models greatly! So no need to worry. I am sure most games like arsenal probably have models with a higher tris count that what I told you.
