I tried using Musescore but it kept removing notes and doing stuff so I am looking for an alternative, what do you use / recommend?
Sunvox, FLstudio
The only music making software s I was thinking of.
I use LMMS. I was looking for free alternatives to FL-Studio and it isn’t bad in my opinion. Some people joke and call it “Legit Music Making Software”. It does the job. My only personal complaint is some of the default instruments like the piano which is fair since it is free. You can get sample packs like other music producers.
If I wanted a clean piano instrument I would use Musescore and make it a .wav file by using Audacity and importing it into LMMS. Musescore is difficult but it is worth it if you take the time to figure it out.
I am a struggling developer so anything free or low-cost is perfect for me lol
I like to use Garage Band but I only use it for putting the different parts together so I’m not sure how good it is at actually making the music.
What do you mean by putting different parts together?
he means adding midis of different segments of song or putting instrument midis together
Because I play irl instruments, I record them separately and use Garage Band to put the different instrument recordings together. Then I use iMovie to add the background and stuff before uploading it to youtube.

Try using Serato Studio. It’s a ridiculously versatile and high-quality way to create music and edit sounds. The learning curve is also pretty low. The fact that it’s legit only 15 USD per month is insanely cheap considering others go for 100 USD + per month.
It does have some downfalls - you can only compose in 4/4 time, and some orchestral instruments sound slightly too synthesized, and it sometimes won’t allow complex melody patterns (no triplets ) but it’s a cheap, clean, and professional option that I highly recommend.
