Hey, it’s J_J. Remember when badges were added and it cost R$100 to make one? Well nearly a decade later, it’s still the same price, but with way more players. Badges could power gameplay time in the same way Skyrim makes me run around like a madman trying to become a criminal all across the country.
Added game time allows for more time to spend money.
I propose the following:
Two types of badges:
Image and non-image.
Non-image badges are free to make. This is so NBCers can create achievements.
Image badges should be R$25.
But remove the current image guidelines.
Lastly, rename them to achievements.
Badges have been seriously overlooked and need an overhaul.
Please feel free to add on or improve my suggestions.
I love the idea of badges having a overhaul. They definitely are key to player interaction in a lot of games, keeping players interested by setting them challenges to earn a badge.
So uploading ‘Achievements’ like you would Game Icons? I support that. However wouldn’t this conflict with their generic design (for e.g. gamepasses are circular too)
I think the main issue is that players can’t be able to upload an infinite amount of spam badges to their games, especially with the fact that Roblox has been running out of asset storage space and had to move the badges database. There would have to be some sort of badge upload limit in place - perhaps one that scales up based on number of visits (on that game, or a person’s total visits) or how much Robux a game makes? (BC members could automatically unlock a certain number of badge slots immediately, or NBCs could pay some Robux to unlock those starting slots) I don’t believe free accounts with no Robux should be able to upload badges right off the bat, simply because the feature would be heavily abused by bots.
I’m aware that some people already spam-purchase badges, but making them free would make the problem even worse. I believe badge uploads should be limited to give each badge more value.
