If interested, please send us a DM or drop a message below
I definitely recommend taking this position if you’re eligible. At first, I was quite skeptical, but working for Blox Guys has truly been an awesome experience!
(sorry @The_Frame don’t mean to be a copy cat lol)
I would definitely recommend taking this position if you’re eligible. I’ve been working with and being paid by the Blox Guy’s since July, we have many talented and hard working people here in our group.
I’ve been working for them for the last month or so and can definitely vouch for how professional and hard-working they are. Highly recommend this position!
It’s kind of weird how they’re are 7 people telling us that BloxGuys are awesome people, like 1-2, but having 7 feels super scammy and cheap. And most of them did it very close to the time of posting the main thread.
It’s a pretty cheap tactic to get people to fill out your thread telling people how awesome you are guys…
I don’t understand the problem? Why would the devforums feel scammy when it’s full of talented individuals? We’re supporting a development team that we’re apart of and recommending it to others. The quick succession of replies doesn’t mean anything
I don’t share @DeepBlueNoSpace’s concerns, but I can take a guess as to what point he was trying to make, as reading the posts I got a similar feeling to what I do reading nominations:
“How is he not in here?!” > Inserts part into Studio
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone assumed the shoutouts were intentionally over-exaggerated for the benefit of the team and not to share experiences pro bono. Ganging up and liking each others posts doesn’t help discredit this.
You should consider elaborating on your experiences so that they’re more useful to prospective team members e.g.
I never had completed long-term projects in the past, but through the project management of TheBloxGuys I’ve been able to make this, this, and this.
or
We disagreed on how to implement feature X, but TheBloxGuys sat down with me to try and understand my view and after a very informative meeting we arrived at Y awesome conclusion.
Just to clarify my complaint, it was that it was a cheap tactic to get people to flood your post with “ya he’s great”, spam the post with likes, etc. A lot of them replied in the first 10 minutes of the post being there, and their phrasing sounds SO MUCH like a fake internet “i make $10k usd a day doing nothing xddddd”
I don’t think thats what it actually is!! It just feels cheap. On the dev forum its a pretty safe better we’re not going to get scammed by some Nigerian war lords lol.
I do have other concerns about just how bad of an application thread this is (“check out the roblox catalogue for examples guys!!”), but really, my main complaint is asking people to tell us how great you are
Wouldn’t it be more concerning if people weren’t vouching for the group? It’s like getting a job opportunity and declining because you heard the employees were happy working there.
More like the company overhyping the position so they can fill it. E.g. the company I work having multiple employees pitching how great it is to work here, ask someone to pay for his own plane ticket to interview here, and then him having wasted time/money because they neglected to tell him the pay was so low. We don’t know if that’s what’s happening here, but there hasn’t been enough information provided to determine one way or another.
“If interested, please send us a DM”
We have an insanely high failure rate for collaboration posts here because everyone thinks that works – it doesn’t. You don’t attract collaborators by making it their responsibility to look for their own incentive.
And again, you’re not helping your case by ganging up and liking each others posts.
Hey Echo, I understand what you mean, having your employees vouch for their boss does look bias. That wasn’t the intent. Due to Blox Guyz being a business, and handling direct deposit info, there’s an unusually high level of information they require from their contractors than other development groups (mostly for tax reasons). Some developers shy away from that, immediately becoming suspicious of giving up their “internet identity.” Blox Guyz wants to break that potential barrier by showing how many other developers, both well known and otherwise, have enjoyed working for them.
As a contractor for them for the past five months, I can say that they are the most organized development group I’ve worked with thus far - and if you’ve seen my past discussion threads, you know how much I value organization haha.
