Park East SPED Teacher's guide

Alternative Areas
You are more than welcome to teach at different alternative areas. These areas are places to help students engage more in the classroom. If you want to use an alternative learning area, make sure to ask or go see if anyone is using the areas. If not you may host your class there. These places include but not limited to are the:

Library

  • Gym
  • Outdoor Learning area

Classrooms

Resource Students should stay in the same classroom unless using alternative learning areas. If there are multiple SPED teachers you are more than welcome to split them up and take them to different areas that involve alternative learning. You are more than welcome to edit the boards as you please but please make sure you do not write any inappropriate stuff.

Learning
Resource Students learn at their own pace. If they can not understand a certain topic try your hardest to teach them. You should not be moving too fast. Also, make sure that you are not teaching them too difficult of work. If you are assigning work or group work make sure it is displayed in the game and easy to complete.

Student Understanding

You must understand that resource students are here for a reason. You also do not know what is going on in their lives. So if you are talking to a resource student or any student in that matter, make sure you are talking to them with respect and geniality. If you think that a student should see the guidance counselor you are more than welcome to ask for one.

Schedule
Your schedule will appear on the top of your screen when an HR starts the session. Please follow that session.
