Part rotates by longest path in animation

For some reason the part rotates the in the opposite direction, or takes the longest path and does this weird 360 rotation.

I’ve also tried rotating the part in small increments, but there is always a keyframe where it does this.

Both starting and ending keyframes are the same.

So how do you fix this?
