Particle Emitter Help

Right now I am trying to make a solid lightsaber blade with a particle emitter,

This is what I have right now (lol)

This is my inspiration:

I am trying to get it so the emitter just emits the entire image until I disable the emitter,
but I have had zero luck so far.
