When a particle emitter emits from a cylinder, it’ll be in the shape of a cylinder, not a square. -

Messing about the properties, but I can’t figure it out.
Sorry, but I don’t think it’s possible to have particles to do that unless you make it more complicated. For example you could try making a simple circle using a Archimedes plugin that make a circle and throw a particle in each one of them. While they’re there, also throw inside the circle a square that will work as a inside particle of the circle.
