Part's velocity no longer moves the player's character

When you stand on an anchored part with a Velocity > 0, your character should move with it. This is how conveyor belts are made. This has stopped happening in my game Obby Creator. It has also stopped happening in the game Super Bomb Survival, so is not just an issue in my game. Unanchored parts that are not in the character model DO get affected properly.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open a blank place
  • Insert a part, anchor it and set it’s velocity > 0.
  • Step on the part.

I don’t know when this started happening, but I just got a report of it for the first time about 15 minutes ago.

Have you tried increasing the friction?:

This also only happens on PC devices. Non-PC devices don’t get any effect to this update (atleast to my knowledge).

This is not an issue with the conveyor I made as it happens to conveyors that previously worked and now no longer work.

All the conveyors in my game have broken, and the main mechanic of the game is conveyors!

I just noticed this in Obby Creator. Glad that Roblox staff is aware of it.

Its broken like this in every game, so its probably a roblox issue.

Yes its a Roblox issue, we’re discussing a quick fix on our end.

Not working for me too, I hope this is fixed soon. My game is super small and it’s basically getting killed right now, I’m getting so many dislikes and my games player count is going down so much.

This can really be seen in obby games, I’ve had a few people tell me that conveyors are broken yet its that the parts velocity doesn’t affect the user.

Im hoping this is fixed or reverted soon.

We’re working on a patch right now. Will give ETA soon. It will be fixed today, hopefully in the next few hours.

ETA for fix is 7pm PST. Everything is in flight, but we want to make sure we are doing some diligent testing to verify safety.

Apologies for the disruption.

I can confirm it is now working for me here - Slider [Classic] - Roblox

Thanks Roblox team for getting this fix in!

The fix for this issue has been released. Please let us know if anything is still not working.

I’m still getting some reports of conveyors not working, but this time I can’t confirm whether it’s just my game or other people’s too. I didn’t have reports of this before the original bug where all conveyors stopped moving humanoids (and haven’t updated the game since then) so it’s unlikely that it’s something to do with my game specifically, but who knows?

It doesn’t seem to be everyone, which is why it’s confusing, but just letting you know that some people seem to be experiencing it.

I can’t seem to reproduce it, so possibly it’s an issue on a specific device or operating system? Anyone else having a reports too?

@CodeWriter Looks like the Windows Store still has a build in which this is broken. Any chance that could be updated short-term too?
