As a Roblox builder, I find it extraordinarily annoying when people’s commission requests are far too vague.
For example, I would say most of the posts under recruitment are just people saying something like this:
“I need a builder. We are a small group. Payment is negotiable.”
They don’t specify what they need, as some builders are more skilled in different types of buildings. I for one am good at modern architecture. I need to know if you are asking for a medieval city or a small modern cafe.
Another thing that people do is that they don’t specify payment. This is less common than not specifying the job, but it still happens. I need to know what I am going to get paid, so I can take that data into consideration if I want to do your commission.
The final thing is that people (this is my personal opinion, others can disagree) should really try to not use percentages. Using percentages is not only random but more often than not you won’t get much out of the game. It is fine if you are using percents, but if you have a good amount of Robux in your group that can use it for the job, then you should use it.
Thank you for reading, and if you are thinking of making a post under recruitment, you should keep some of this in mind.
My fix for this is a recommendation that shows up somewhere that says you should specify everything.
Just ignore these posts. They will offer up-front payment/percentages (that was worded weird, I mean they will tell you what they are paying) and better specification of the job if you ignore them.
You can also message them to tell them there’s not enough info in there.
Not what the topic is about, and plenty of people do that still, trust me.
I can understand how annoying it is - there’s not really a lot that can be done about it though.
The category guidance in #collaboration:recruitment only gives tips on effective recruitment, so I don’t believe you can flag posts which are extremely vague considering they don’t have to be specific.
As @Ty_Scripts mentioned, you could simply ignore these - it’s their loss after all. This is their recruitment advertisement, and they won’t have much luck with recruitment when their advertisement is poor in terms of description, so I don’t think you should worry about this.
People who are too vague when advertising job roles are probably doing you a favour - if they can’t release a good quality recruitment ad, immediately that sets a poor impression upon potential developers since it shows a somewhat careless or inconsiderate attitude. I’d suggest looking for the the most considerate posts as those are the people a talented developer should be spending their time working with.
I think they’re gonna revamp the process entirely when the Creator Hub comes out, with the Recruitment category being scrapped as a result.
In the meantime, it’s probably best to use Hidden Developers or Fiverr until it comes out.
Because the Recruitment category is filled with scammers, inexperienced developers and jobs that likely won’t make profit. Hence the reason bigger commissioners avoid it like the plague.
