Photoshop smudge creates weird effect

I was messing around with smudge, and I accidentally broke the smudge, and I’m not sure how to fix it back. I want the 2nd smudge effect, rather then the 1st one shown in the first picture.

Maybe try searching up a tutorial? I’m no artist, so I can’t really help you on that one. (Nobody else has responded, so I’m giving my best advice)

I’ve tried, I haven’t found anything that could help

Restart creative cloud first, and if that doesn’t work I believe it’s because to get different amounts of smudge you would need a touch sensor or speed(so you can drag around faster to get a smaller smudge if I recall correctly).

Ah, ok, that explains why it works with a stylus, is there any way to bypass this?

I’m not very experienced with Fresco so I don’t know how to bypass it, but maybe you can use a different brush or the erase tool.

Ah, this is a program with Photoshop
