Linking to a post is not the same as pinning a post. People will usually see a pinned post rather than clicking a link to go to a so called “pinned” post.
What benefits does having a “pinned post” feature have compared to linking them into the topic (or marking as solved)? The only difference I see is visual aesthetic.
Where have you seen people “usually” doing this? It is not a feature in Discourse.
it’s basic knowledge. if it was youtube for example or rawblocks devf you think they’d click the link? no they would probably see the pinned comment beforehand.
You’re comparing a forum with a comment section on a video sharing website, apples with oranges. On YouTube, you cannot embed another post natively to your original post.
Roblox themselves pin important replies by quoting them on top of their original post:
