Hey, I made a notification for my SCP game, although I think it is missing something I am still proud of it. Please let me know what I can do to improve.
Dynamically changing text size looks cheap, tbh. Gotta use the fixed text size. Also the text size in the end is tiny and will be hard to read on small screens/phones
It’s decent. Not a fan of the text size change.
Besides the text size change, I’d advise you to use some color to make the notification stand out. If it’s supposed to be important, you want your players to read it, and not treat it like a random pop-up notification that they’ll just immediately close.
A red pulsating glow for the title could definitely improve its visuals.
The notification doesn’t feel like a “warning” to me. It just makes me annoyed that a notification would appear like that. Like it has no sense of its place to the player’s experience.
The text size changing is weird. In fact, when the whole typewriting effect is finished, the text becomes too small to read. I am not sure what changes you can do here. Probably shorten it, or separate different sentences into another TextLabel.
Thanks! What would feel like a warning to you? Im trying to improve
First, maybe a pulsating red glow as @ChiruDonut said. When you see a red sign like a stop sign in real life, you expect it to be a warning. That’s when your attention gets focused and your sense heightens. That feeling is what I should feel when the UI pops up.
The UI also is just a gray background. It feels like a background UI instead of a “pay attention here” kind of UI. It doesn’t stand out.
It looks good so far, but the map doesn’t look like it’s from an SCP game. Also, make the text not get smaller when showing up.
The game is SCP + set in the roman times
