Keep in mind that while free services work fine for small games, they will likely have issues scaling to the player base of a large game. The egg hunt was using a paid service and even that was having trouble handling a large volume of players. There’s also the concern that the proxy may shut down at any given time.
Free proxies (and web services in general) are not reliable enough for professional development.
I can’t create a repro file for this since I have no control over any of the parts involved in creating this bug.
