Currently, as of 1/8/24, players in our game are not seeing ads on our immersive ad placements despite them being valid. Players were seeing our ads up until about 1-2 weeks ago, and then the view count dropped to almost nothing:
I sat in my game for ~15 minutes, and saw this the entire time:
We have not made any changes to the ad placements that would cause a dropoff like this.
Expected behavior
It is expected that immersive ads would be shown to players
Kind of weird, I am having the same problems in games too, both my own and other popular games. Jail break has big billboards but the only thing on the boards were giant gray Roblox logos and a black back ground. The immersive ads were fine for last 2023 but I don’t know when I think in Dec/Nov of 2023 cases like this started happening to my account.
Not sure if this is related to the immersive ads issue, but once they first came out, then the new ad manager came out and after getting all that setup, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that ran a simple experiment of running two simultaneous campaigns where one was immersive and the other was sponsored ads to see the immersive ads get spanked 100:1 in impressions and CTR. I quit using them after November for that very reason, so it might be a combination of immersive ad issues and developers not getting good results when putting advertising money on it that is causing the exodus of advertising money away from using it.
Thank you everyone for bringing this up. Ad demand is volatile and will fluctuate over time.
The Q4 and December period often represent peak demand with the holidays. This typically slows down in January. We are also thinking about better ways to provide you all with visibility into ad demand, please let us know if you have any thoughts!
Hi @darkmodeonn! Having a graph that shows the current and historical ad demand would be useful. It allows us to tell whether or not drops in views are organic or a bug, and it also allows us to make educated guesses about the revenue we will recieve from them in the near future.
