As a Roblox developer, the Studio Properties window used to ‘save’ its format when you had the drop-down tabs of things like the Scale of a Mesh or the Position/Rotation of a Part open to be able to enter individual X,Y or Z values.
In early January this changed so that any time you selected an item ALL of the drop-down tabs would be collapsed. I submitted a bug report (Property Submenu list closes after opening it, selecting workspace, then reselecting item from Explorer or Workspace) and got a reply back from @OuterspaceNemo stating that “this has been confirmed to be by design as property items no longer have a static lifetime”.
If Roblox is able to either change this back or make configuration settings for the Properties window so that developers who need to change their values by precise or varied amounts could select their often used tabs open it would greatly reduce the amount of time we would spend selecting these values. Developers who do very precise placement of Parts or highly detailed builds where they are constantly switching between items and changing these values find it takes longer to build.
As it stands we either have to be very careful about placing our cursor over the exact X,Y,Z value in the closed tab, or click the drop-down to open the individual values and select the value we want to change, change it, then deselect the item so the SelectionBox isn’t hiding the precise edges of the item we are working with so we can see where our parts align and if it’s not quite correct, select the item again, click the drop-down tab again because it’s closed, and repeat the process.
It may seem like a simple process to you to just click on each value after opening the drop-down tab, but imagine building a complex model with 100 Parts without having each Part on a .2 stud Position/Resize grid or 45 degree Rotation axis and having to deal with this issue each time you select a different Part to manually change its Position, Size or Rotation.
