Hi I’m new here, I made a custom character and I added default animations to it, but they are the wrong way, root part is facing front, and I re rigged the root part to the upper torso still not working, I individually rotated all rigs on the y axis 180 degrees as in : 0, 180, 0. But it still runs really weird? I don’t know how to rotate them the right way to get it. I tried every rotation and I cant find the right orientation and position I don’t know what to do? the only way it animates the way I want is when it’s backwards! Also my mesh body parts are hollow on the inside, they are all double-sided but all rig parts are hollow I have spent like 5 hours on this I’m so close to giving up I need help!!! And I need help with beginner explanations thank you
I can’t continue anything on making my game because I have been stuck here for days…I will pray someone helps…
from what i can see, the limbs being hollow is because of backface culling, which hides faces that are turned inside out on your model
in my experience with blender this usually happens when you duplicate and mirror
limbs for some odd reason (like in this example),
but this can be fixed really easily!
(assuming you’ve modeled your character in blender) by going into edit mode, selecting the entire mesh, or selecting the parts that are inverted if your rig is separated into different parts and going to the “mesh” category, and clicking “recalculate outside”
about the animation stuff, the default animations may not work on your character, due to the way it’s rigged, or if you don’t have the unit scale set to 0.01 (roblox’s scale, which makes it so your mesh isn’t ginormous when imported)
Hii!! I tried to do it and also tried to solidify in blender and it looks even worse SOB. I honestly don’t know anymore, the model looks great standing still but animated there are no limbs, I don’t know if the issue was because I created character in one single model and only later cut them in Roblox g15 parts in blender. Do I need to make a new model by creating the torso, lower, arms ext… Seperatly as a solid parts? I don’t know where to continue
you could try going into sculpt mode and cutting the limbs off a bit with the box trim tool,
go into edit mode and separate by loose parts, trim off the spikes on the top with the box trim again, join, and adjust the rig
i think i made a mistake in my last reply, by the way
if your limbs are like completely hollow, not inverted you should try maybe going a bit less on the solidify / going negative? i tried it out with this leg with the wireframe modifier and ended up with this
about the animation problem, i’m honestly not the best about problems with animation since i usually make mine in moon animator / use mixamo for each rig that i make, so i suggest maybe searching up your specific problem (like “roblox mesh rig animation disappearing”)
