when doing lineart for labels or details like those octopi on the bucket hat, use a brush that doesn’t use line pressure. unless you copy and paste them, they wont all look the same which makes it look sloppy. on the second picture (the dude with the vans shirt), the fangs look very 2D which, in your defense, is your art style but it isn’t anatomically correct. on the first image, if the hat you drew was a bucket het, why are there pointy edges? also, make the brim of the hat wider and when you make the lines to connect the brim in the back of the head, don’t draw it downwards, draw it more the direction that the top of the brim is going if that makes any sense.

Thanks for the feedback! As for the pointy edges I just find it looks better sometimes, I’ve tried drawing it more flatter and less pointy but it ends up looking very plain and doesn’t have a curve effect that scatters across the face. Which when trying to shade or use highlights it makes it very difficult to make some areas of the highlights and shadows darker than others, the same thing for the brighter sides. If there’s a way around this that makes it look flatter but also keeps the lighting in check that you know of, please tell me, thanks!
