Please let Members post in Discussion, however through a stricter Post Approval

I don’t get why you banned Members from posting in Discussion. What was the reason for it? I think that Post Approval does a good job of rejecting bad posts, and while yes, due to the current situation, you might wait longer for PA to respond, I still don’t think we should be entirely locked out of a category.

The “plus” button in Discussion that would redirect you to PA is locked.

From what I’ve heard post approval doesn’t accept topic requests to discussions going forward.

Members can no longer request to post new topics in Discussion. You will have to wait until you are a Regular. This change was made yesterday.

Discussion requests were 1/3 of the total workload of post approval and 80%+ of requests were instantly denied for being either in the wrong category or being nonsense.

Post approval is mainly intended for Platform Feedback. Any other normally-restricted category that we allow requests for are courtesy services – not a right. Unfortunately at this time we have to make this change because otherwise it would be too frustrating and time-consuming for the team of volunteers.

Also stricter post approval = post approval still. There is no such thing as a “stricter” post approval because it’s already strict anyways. What you propose is either a brand new trust level “Stricter Post Approval” which is both infeasible and doesn’t make a lot of sense because at that point PA and this “SPA” should just be 1 group.
